The Canisteo-Greenwood Central School District believes the primary purpose of an effective school is teaching for learning.  We believe that all students can learn and can achieve at optimum levels of academic performance, regardless of their previous academic performance, family background, socio-economic status, race or gender. The District will foster positive growth in social/emotional behavior and attitudes. 



Elementary Dismissal-2:50pm
Pre-K-1st from Playground Door
2-4th from Main Front Entrance 
Middle School-2:55pm
5-7th from Side Gymnasium Door
High School-3:10pm 

Canisteo-Greenwood School is now offering season athletic passes good for admission to all regular home sporting events. Passes are $20 for a family or $10 for individuals. Please complete the application below and bring it to an athlete event.  Checks may be made payable to Canisteo- Greenwood Central School.

  • School Tool App

    Good News!!! The Schooltool Moble App is now available for Canisteo-Greenwood students and parents. The Mobile App gives parents and students the same access they currently have on your computer. You can see the same screens – assignments, grades, attendance, etc. The only difference is now you can get push notifications, i.e., when an assignment is graded.  Want a Living Sign Tee-shirt?



Tee-Shirts are $10 each and come in white with green lettering or gray with green lettering, sizes-s, m, l, xl, 2xl, 3xl and can be purchased at the Valley Salon, Main Street, Canisteo, NY.

Coasters made from the original Living Sign can be purchased at the Business Office located in the High School for $5 each cash or check payable to CGSCD.

  • BMI Opt Out Letter

    Canisteo-Greenwood School was selected to submit Body Mass Index percentages and weight status group information from your student’s health appraisal to New York State Department of Health for their survey. Only summary information is sent. No names and no information about individuals are sent. If you choose to have your student’s information excluded from this survey report please fill out this form and return it to your student’s nurse’s office before January 3, 2017 or call the nurse’s office to have a form sent home with your student. Thank you.
